Ambulance Quality Indicators (AQI) were introduced in April 2011 to indicate the quality delivered by an Ambulance Service, and to assess on-going service improvement. It contains indicators about the following key response indicators: Category A Red 1 Responses in 8 Minutes; Category A Red 2 Responses in 8 Minutes; Category A Responses in 19 Minutes; Call Abandonment Rate; Re-Contact Rate. And also for the following: Call Abandonment Rate; Re-Contact Rate Following Discharge of Care; Time to Answer Call; Time to Treatment; Ambulance calls closed with telephone advice or managed without transport to A&E; Number of Transported Incidents. Data for Systems Indicators should be available from Ambulance Services’ own information systems and relates to the initial call.
